Back Country Horsemen of Washington - Nisqually Chapter Cross Country Trail Challenge Rules
- Each participant is responsible for his/her own safety and that of his/her mount.
- Each participant must maintain control of his/her mount at all times on and off of the course.
- The judge may ask the participant to bypass an obstacle or leave the course if it is deemed that to continue would be unsafe for either the participant or their mount.
- No hitting in front of the cinch.
- Stallions, riding double and loose foals are not allowed.
- Any person under 18 years of age must have written consent of a parent/guardian to ride on the grounds.
- Minors may not be on site without a parent/guardian.
- The participant and mount are judged only when negotiating obstacles.
- A marker will indicate the exact point at which the judging begins and ends.
- There is no limit to the number of animals an individual can compete on.
- Appropriate footwear is required and helmets are recommended.
- Any type of saddle and bridal/bosal are permitted as long as they are in good working order.
- A maximum of 3 refusals will be allowed at any given obstacle.
- Horses at the walk except in the warm-up area and on the course.
- Judges decisions are final
- No Stallions - No dogs Please
